SPOKANE, Wash. -- Gonzaga student-athletes earned an athletic department record 166 academic honors and combined to post a 3.40 combined grade-point average for the Spring 2019 semester.

Of the 166 student-athletes to earn University honors, a record 72 earned their way onto the President's List (3.85-4.0 GPA), while 94 were named to the Dean's List (3.50-3.84 GPA) for the semester.

GU's 3.40 combined GPA is the second-highest in department history, while the 25 student-athletes who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester tied a department record.

The Gonzaga volleyball team led the way with the highest team GPA of 3.63, followed by the women's tennis program at a 3.61 and the women's track team at a 3.60. Women's Track also posted the highest number of student-athletes on the President's List at 15 and the highest total between the two academic honor lists at 24.

The women's rowing team had 10 on the President's List and a total of 19 honorees, while the women's soccer team had nine on the President's List and a total of 20 honorees. The GU baseball team set program records with a 3.32 team GPA and 20 student-athletes on either the President's or Dean's List.
